Eating well, one meal at a time.
As a food columnist, food writer, culinary activist and cookbook author I was continually curious about the puzzles and paradoxes between the promotion of exciting and extreme food and our overall health and nutrition. Now, as a certified holistic nutritionist, I not only see food as a large part of our pleasure and social connectedness, but now I also see food as a large part of our state of health and wellness.
Our family, friends and environment influences our life habits and food choices. Food influences how much energy we have, how we look, how we feel physically, emotionally and mentally and how our health progresses throughout our life. In essence, we truly are what we eat.
The exciting part of understanding that we are what we eat is the single fact that we have choice. At any given moment, we can change what we eat and change the course of our health. That’s exciting for me as I guide my clients into a new world of delicious and healthier food choices they never knew existed before. It’s a new world of pleasure and social connectedness.
As a holistic nutritionist at the Optimum Wellness Niagara Clinic in St Catharines, I facilitate dietary changes to help people make significant improvements to their overall health and wellbeing. Some changes people opt to make are basic and similar in nature; others are more specific to their unique set of health conditions.
My philosophy is simple; eat well, buy local and live a good life. Let me help you find the right combination of healthy habits to flourish and grow happy and healthy.
